چکیده
We reconstruct ghost and gluon spectral functions in $2+1$ flavor QCD with Gaussian process regression. This framework allows us to largely suppress spurious oscillations other common reconstruction artifacts by specifying generic magnitude length scale parameters the kernel function. The Euclidean propagator data are taken from lattice simulations domain wall fermions at physical point. For infrared ultraviolet extensions of propagators as well low-frequency asymptotics function, we utilize results functional computations Yang-Mills theory QCD. further reduces systematic error significantly. Hadronic Spectral Functions in Lattice QCD
Among various dynamical quantities in quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the spectral functions (SPFs) of hadrons play a special role in physical observables (See e.g. [1,2]). A well-known example is the cross section of the e+e− annihilation into hadrons, which can be expressed by SPF in the vector channel. SPF at finite temperature (T ) and/or baryon density is also a key concept to understand the...
متن کاملALEPH Tau Spectral Functions and QCD
Hadronic τ decays provide a clean laboratory for the precise study of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Observables based on the spectral functions of hadronic τ decays can be related to QCD quark-level calculations to determine fundamental quantities like the strong coupling constant, quark and gluon condensates. Using the ALEPH spectral functions and branching ratios, complemented by some other a...
متن کاملBulk viscosity and spectral functions in QCD
We examine the behavior of the spectral function for the T μ μ operator in QCD in the two regimes where it is possible to make analytical progress; weak coupling, and close to a second order QCD phase transition. We determine the behavior of the bulk viscosity in each regime. We discuss the problem of analytic continuation of the (lattice) Euclidean correlation function to determine the spectra...
متن کاملUsing Gaussian Processes to Optimize Expensive Functions
The task of finding the optimum of some function f(x) is commonly accomplished by generating and testing sample solutions iteratively, choosing each new sample x heuristically on the basis of results to date. We use Gaussian processes to represent predictions and uncertainty about the true function, and describe how to use these predictions to choose where to take each new sample in an optimal ...
متن کاملActive learning of neural response functions with Gaussian processes
A sizeable literature has focused on the problem of estimating a low-dimensional feature space for a neuron’s stimulus sensitivity. However, comparatively little work has addressed the problem of estimating the nonlinear function from feature space to spike rate. Here, we use a Gaussian process (GP) prior over the infinitedimensional space of nonlinear functions to obtain Bayesian estimates of ...
